Clean PVC DWV pipe rough-in with aligned manufacturer lettering running through wooden roof trusses.

Look closely at our rough-in work, and you’ll notice something unusual: every line of text printed on our pipes faces the exact same direction.

Customer Issue

On a major multi-story new build in Bardstown, the owner and general contractor wanted a high-quality plumbing framework that every other tradesman on site could also respect.  Our team continued progress today on this extensive rough-in, routing PVC drain and vent stacks through floor joists and roof trusses while carefully aligning every length of pipe.

Why It Matters

Does aligning the manufacturer text on PVC pipes make wastewater flow any better? Truthfully, no—the water inside a pipe couldn’t care less which way the letters point! But in plumbing, how you do anything is how you do everything. Aligning pipe lettering is one mark of true craft pride that is important to our company owner Robbie Baker and all the crew. When a plumber takes extra time to square up details nobody sees behind drywall, you are more confident that every glue joint, slope, and vent angle was executed with equal perfection. Other trades respect it, inspectors appreciate it, and homeowners get complete peace of mind.

Kitchen Sink Leak Repair – Willisburg, KY 40078

August 6th, 2026 Recent Work
Under-sink plumbing repair inside a kitchen cabinet in Willisburg, KY.

Google “picture of a plumber” and you’ll mainly see the classic joke about a plumber squeezed under a kitchen sink cabinet halfway hanging out.  Truth is, under-sink spaces are tight and uncomfortable – but that’s ok.  We take crawling into those tight spaces seriously so that you don’t have to.

Customer Issue

A homeowner noticed water leaking under their kitchen sink.  That is a threat to cabinetry and subflooring and can even produce hidden rot and mold.  So Trenton from our team crawled under the cabinet, identified and repaired all the leaks.  Now the customer has a clean, dry kitchen cabinet and protection against costly water damage.

Why It Matters

Under-sink leaks are no fun and can sneak up on a homeowner. A slow trickle hiding behind dish soap and sponges can silently warp cabinet wood, ruin flooring, and encourage mold growth long before anyone spots the puddle. DIY fixes often rely on quick putty or mismatched plastic slip-nuts that fail under hot water expansion. Calling a professional plumber ensures correct P-trap geometry, proper seals, and code-compliant shutoff valves that hold up to heavy daily kitchen use.

Huge thanks to Trenton for diving in to fix the kitchen sink leaks! For honest, reliable repairs in Willisburg (40078) or anywhere across Central Kentucky, Right There Plumbing has your back. Check out our Plumbing Services or give us a call today!

Multi-Story Plumbing – Bardstown, KY 40004

August 4th, 2026 Recent Work
Wood-framed multi-story home under construction showing PVC drain and vent stack rough-in piping running through wall studs between floor levels.

Plumbing a single-story home is somewhat straightforward compared to tying together multiple floor levels…completely changes the game.

Customer Issue

A large new home build in Bardstown required a multi-level DWV (drain, waste, and vent) framework spanning a basement, main floor, and upper level without risking vacuum locks, noisy pipes, or code violations down the road.

What We Did

It is still in-progress and will be an extensive multi-day rough-in. Our crew has mapped out the central stack locations, routed PVC drain and vent lines across all three floors, and aligned vertical runs to guarantee smooth wastewater flow and equalized air pressure throughout the home.

Why It Matters

Plumbing multiple stories requires engineering foresight. As water drops from an upper floor, velocity builds, creating strong vacuum pressure inside the pipes. Without proper stack venting and correct pipe sizing, that suction can siphon water out of lower-floor drain traps, letting toxic sewer gases inside or causing basement drains to gurgle and back up. Doing it right in the framing phase protects your home long after the drywall goes up.

Will post more later on this multi-story setup – but great work so far from David and Everett! Water Heater Replacement & Expansion Tank Install – Berea, KY 40403

August 4th, 2026 Recent Work
Close-up of a Reliance water heater data label highlighting the model and serial number for age verification.

Knowing how old your water heater is can save you from an unexpected cold shower or a flooded utility closet.

Customer Issue

A homeowner in Berea had an aging water heater that was struggling to perform and lacked thermal expansion protection to meet modern building codes.

What We Did

Our team installed a new 30-gallon electric water heater, adding a top-mounted thermal expansion tank and press fittings.

Result

A clean, code-compliant installation delivering consistent hot water with built-in protection against pressure spikes.

Why It Matters

Most tank water heaters have a lifespan of 8 to 12 years. You can check your own unit’s age on the manufacturer sticker—the first two digits of the serial number typically show the year it was built (for example, “25” indicates 2025). Adding a thermal expansion tank (typically a $150–$250 upgrade) gives expanding hot water a safe place to go. This simple addition cushions your plumbing from thermal pressure, helping your water heater last significantly longer.

Here to Help

Shoutout to Trenton and Wyatt for another solid installation! If your water heater’s serial number starts with 15 or lower (or it is in the 90’s)—or if it’s been years since your last system maintenance—give Right There Plumbing a call. We serve all of Central Kentucky with honest inspections, flushes, and replacements. Check out our Water Heater Services or reach out today!

Rough-In Plumbing Pressure Testing – Loretto, KY 40037

July 28th, 2026 Recent Work
Laundry box rough-in connected to a test gauge assembly and Milwaukee inflator during a DWV pressure test.

Before drywall goes up or concrete gets poured, every drain line needs to prove it’s leak-free under real-world pressure.

Customer Issue

On a new build in Loretto, confirming the underground and in-wall piping was 100% airtight was essential before closing in the framing and slab.

What We Did

David and Everett executed a complete pressure test. They inserted inflatable test plugs into the standpipe and slab drains, pressurized the system using an inflator, and hooked up a test gauge to monitor for any pressure drop across the entire system.

Result

A fully verified, leak-free drainage system ready for concrete and drywall.

Why It Matters

Drains mostly rely on gravity, but high-volume water discharges—like a modern washing machine pump—create real surge pressure inside the drain pipes. Super small gaps in glue joints can leak water or can let toxic sewer gases back into living spaces. Pressurizing the system with a gauge proves that every joint is sealed tight before it’s hidden forever behind drywall or under concrete.

Vent Pipes, P-Traps, and Rough-In Plumbing – Crab Orchard, KY 40419

July 27th, 2026 Recent Work
Framed wall with drain arm, PEX water lines, and a handwritten note on wooden stud framing.

Building a new home means putting complete trust in the work that eventually gets hidden behind drywall.

Customer Issue

On this custom build in Crab Orchard, the layout called for a clean, code-conscious plumbing rough-in across the bathrooms and laundry room to ensure fast drainage and complete sewer gas protection.

What We Did

Trenton and Wyatt handled the rough-in phase for this home. They installed the complete drain, waste, and vent (DWV) system and run PEX water lines. In the laundry room, they mounted the outlet box, set up the P-trap, and routed vertical vents through the wall studs.

Result

A quiet, code-compliant DWV system that drains smoothly, passes inspection, and leaves the home ready for drywall.

Why It Matters

Every fixture relies on two key components: a P-trap and a vent pipe. The P-trap holds a standing water seal that stops foul, dangerous sewer gas from backing into your living space. The vent pipe supplies air pressure so waste moves freely—much like holding the air cap open on a water jug so it pours smoothly. Without proper venting, gravity pulls water right out of the P-trap, breaking that seal.

During the job, we noticed a handwritten note on the stud framing. Even with the quality wood and workmanship of this place, it was a good reminder of what really holds up things in life’s uncertainties and gives peace behind those walls.
