Finishing the Job: A Comprehensive Plumbing Final in Mackville, KY

Customer Issue

Transitioning from the construction phase to a fully livable home requires a “final” plumbing installation. This is the critical stage where rough-in pipes tucked behind the walls are finally connected to the fixtures you use for daily life. For this project, the homeowner needed a professional to bring the entire system online, ensuring that every connection was secure and every fixture was ready for service.

What We Did

Our technician, Tanner, handled the comprehensive final for this residence. We focus on doing things the right way the first time, using high-quality components and proper technique. The work included:

–Water Heater Installation: Set up the electric water heater using 1/2″ ball valves for reliable shut-off control and red and blue PEX piping for clear identification of hot and cold lines.

–Fixture Connections: Installed and connected the toilet, bathroom vanity, and kitchen sink to the main lines.

–Utility Services: Installed a shop sink to provide the homeowner with a dedicated workspace for heavy-duty cleanup.

–Drainage Precision: We utilized proper fittings to maintain the proper drainage slope and flow, which is essential for a clog-free system and long-term reliability.

–System Testing: Conducted a water pressure check across the entire home to verify that all connections were watertight and the system was operating within safe parameters.

Result

From the sleek, modern rainfall showerhead to the rugged shop sink in the garage, every fixture is set up professionally. The water system is balanced, the water heater is safely commissioned, and the homeowner has peace of mind knowing the job was done to code.

Why It Matters

A professional “final” is about more than just turning on the water; it’s about protecting your investment. Improperly seated P-traps or poorly tensioned supply lines can lead to slow, hidden leaks that rot out new vanities and subfloors. By ensuring the correct drainage slope with proper PVC fittings and regulating the water pressure, we protect your new fixtures from premature wear and ensure your home stays dry and efficient for years to come.

Gas Line Installation & Heater Hookup – Salvisa, KY 40372

Gas Line Installation & Heater Hookup – Salvisa, KY 40372

A homeowner in Salvisa reached out to us because they needed a safe, code-compliant setup for new interior wall heaters. They also required a clean exterior stub-out positioned so the gas company could perform the final hookup without a hitch.

Trenton and Wyatt from our team stepped in to get this home winter-ready. They ran secure black iron piping right along the baseboards to keep the installation looking clean and professional. Every wall heater was fitted with its own dedicated shut-off valve for easy management. On the outside, they ran a 1/2″ gas line and stubbed it out exactly 18 inches off the ground to meet utility provider specs and local codes.

The result is a solid, efficient heating system. The wall units are hooked up tight with professional-grade fittings, providing the homeowner with a reliable setup and the gas company with a perfect, headache-free connection point.

Why It Matters

Working with gas requires absolute precision. Here is why we built the system this way:

–The 18-Inch Rule: Keeping the exterior stub at least 18 inches off the ground protects the critical hookup point from pooling water, snow accumulation, and rogue lawnmowers.

–Independent Control: Installing dedicated shut-off valves at each heater means you can service a single unit in the future without turning off the gas to the rest of the house.

–Pressure-Tested Peace of Mind: We pressure-test every joint. Professional installation takes the guesswork out of the job, ensuring your system is leak-free and safe.

Here to Help

Trenton and Wyatt take pride in providing top-tier service for residents in Salvisa and throughout Central Kentucky. If you need a professional, code-compliant gas line installation that prioritizes your family’s safety, the team at Right There Plumbing is ready to work.

Bathroom Remodel Rough-In & Utility Relocation – Georgetown, KY 40324

Bathroom Remodel Rough-In & Utility Relocation – Georgetown, KY 40324

Customer Issue

The homeowner was starting a major remodel and needed a clean slate. They wanted to relocate a bathroom sink, prep for a new tile shower, clear out an old washer box, and set up a garage utility sink—all while keeping an eye on a strict budget.

What We Did

Our crew, David and Everett, got right down to the “behind-the-scenes” anatomy of the house. They rerouted the drain lines using solid 3″ PVC and tight, secure fittings, installed a new shower faucet valve with balanced hot and cold PEX water lines, set up the new tile shower drain, and prepped a clean wall breakout for the garage laundry connection.

Result

All plumbing is perfectly routed and built strictly to code. The layout gives the drywall and tile crews a flawless, leak-free foundation to build on without any hidden surprises down the line.

Why It Matters

These photos show exposed studs and raw pipes, but this “surgery” phase is where the real magic happens. Think of plumbing like the anatomy of your home—beautiful tile is great, but your pipes are the veins and organs. Sloppy rough-in work leads to slow leaks, mold, and expensive drywall teardowns later on. Getting the angles and drainage slopes perfect right now keeps your home safe for decades, and we managed this entire multi-part list while keeping the job perfectly within the customer’s budget.

Incredible work by David and Everett! If you’re planning a remodel or an upgrade, don’t leave the bones of your home to guesswork. Check out our Bathroom Remodeling Services and let’s get it done right the first time.

Sump Pump & Water-Powered Backup Install – Lexington, KY 40503

Sump Pump & Water-Powered Backup Install – Lexington, KY 40503

Customer Issue: The homeowner wanted a fail-proof crawl space setup. Standard pumps work great, but a heavy storm can knock the power out right when you need them most.

What We Did: We got down in the crawl space and set up a dual-defense system. We installed a primary pump and paired it with a Liberty SumpJet water-powered backup. We tapped the cold water line with a clean blue PEX run and a dedicated shut-off, then piped dual PVC discharge lines with independent check valves.

Result: A dry crawl space and peace of mind. No matter how hard it pours or if the power grid goes offline, this system keeps the foundation safe.

Why It Matters: Battery backups are common, but they run out of juice. A water-powered backup is a brilliant alternative:
—How it works: It uses municipal water pressure to create a vacuum, suctioning the pit dry.
—Infinite runtime: No batteries or electricity needed—it pumps as long as your city water is on.
—No maintenance: No batteries to decay, service, or fail.
—Code-compliant routing: Tapping water lines requires precise backflow prevention to keep drinking water safe. We built it to the highest standard.

Here to Help: Great work by David and Everett. If you’re in the 40503 area (or Central KY) and need sump pump help, Right There Plumbing is here to help.

Leak Repairs

Knowing what is safe to flush down your toilet or send down your kitchen and bathroom drains can be challenging.

wipes grease and hair

Knowing what is safe to flush down your toilet or send down your kitchen and bathroom drains can be challenging. The marketing of some products can be confusing and misleading! Here are some things to consider…

1. ‘Flushable’ wipes aren’t actually flushable. These wipes come with a warning in small print that says not to flush them. They do not dissolve and can clog your toilet. We recommend putting wipes in the trash instead of the toilet

????

2. Grease of any kind will clog your kitchen sink drain. This can develop slowly over time or more quickly. Consider having a glass jar or container near your sink to discard grease into instead of sending it down your drain!

????

3. Hair can be a hassle! Anything from long flowing hair to coarse beard hair can pose a potential clog. Often times Drain O or a similar product is used to remove this clog, but did you know that this product can damage your pipes, may not resolve the clog, and can result in damaged tools if further repair is required. We strongly suggest using a hair trap in your shower drain to prevent clogging your drain
